Hazel Lim - Chief Finance Officer
Full Time
Deep Green is redefining how we power digital infrastructure, by building distributed data centres that capture and reuse heat for social good.
We’re now moving from planning into delivery, and we need someone to help us make smart financial decisions as we build and scale. This is a rare opportunity to shape the financial engine of a capex-heavy, sustainability-focused business from the ground up.
The role
We’re looking for a commercially minded Investment Analyst to work directly with the CFO on financial modelling, deal structuring, and project finance across a growing portfolio of data centre assets. You will be working closely with the finance and business development teams.
This role sits at the intersection of investment analysis, project finance, and business development, supporting how we fund, build, and monetise sites.
You’ll get hands-on exposure to live transactions, returns modelling, and investor conversations - ideal for someone who wants to build real asset-level finance experience.
What you'll be doing
Investment & M&A Support
Deal Execution
Support live deal workstreams: diligence, data room management, document indexing, and tracking outstanding items to closure
Coordinate with external legal advisors on transaction documentation, ensuring information flows accurately between Deep Green, counterparties, and counsel
Own data room hygiene; structure, version control, access management, with the attention to detail that protects Deep Green in diligence
Maintain transaction trackers, condition precedent checklists, and closing mechanics support
New Site Evaluation
Partner with the Strategic Development Manager to identify and evaluate new locations for investment
Build and maintain a database of property valuation comparables, comps, and infrastructure benchmarks to support acquisition pricing
Run competitor analysis across UK and target market data centre operators; pipeline, deal activity, pricing, occupancy
Translate site-level opportunity assessments into clear investment recommendations for the CFO and ExCo
New Market Setup (longer-term)
Support entry into new geographies; coordinating tax structuring analysis with external advisors, legal entity setup, and intercompany frameworks
Maintain the corporate structure map as new SPVs, holdcos, and operating entities are established
Liaise with legal, tax, and accounting advisors to ensure setup is fit-for-purpose for both operations and future financing
Investor & Funder Relations Support
Run ad hoc valuation reports, scenario modelling, and bespoke analyses for investor and Octopus requests, turning around quickly and to a high standard of presentation
Support portfolio-level analyses and benchmarking work, drawing on competitor and market data
Coordinate with the finance team to ensure investor-facing metrics (KPIs, returns, capex tracking, cash position) are consistent across reporting cycles
Getting Sites to FID
Drive sites through to Final Investment Decision, coordinating the parallel workstreams across valuation, construction costing, legal, and financial modelling
Maintain the site-level investment case from initial evaluation through to FID approval, keeping models, comps, and assumptions in sync as inputs evolve
Run scenario and sensitivity analysis on construction costs, delays, financing structures, demand ramp, and pricing to stress-test the investment case
Build and maintain comparable transaction and valuation databases to anchor pricing and returns analysis
Translate workstream outputs into clear FID papers and recommendations for the CFO, ExCo, and board
